Performancing Ad Network

Performancing Ad Network, is a new ad network recently launched. Unlike many ad-networks which took forever to perform, this network is really performing well for this blog. It seems that it will replace Kontera, my second largest source of revenue soon.

Performancing Ad Network seems promising as they are specifically targeting 125 X 125 pixel image ads, popular with blogs sidebar section. Also those who have doubt, this can be used along with Google Adsense without any policy issues.

Here’s How It Works

The ads are based around the popular 125 x 125 pixel banner ads that you see on many blogs (including the ones you see in my sidebar).

It is a self service system where advertisers sign up, submit ads and pay for them all via Performancing and then they send you your share of the revenue at the same time each month.

You can book your own ads for free - might seem a little silly but if you have spare spots and want to fill them with ads pointing at affiliate programs or even key parts of your blog you can fill them with internal ads.

Publishers are put into a Marketplace where your blog will be shown to prospective advertisers looking for blogs to advertise on.

They have a traffic exchange system where you allow other blogs to show their ad on your blog in exchange for credits which can be used to display your ad on other blogs. You also earn credits by selling ads.

The Revenue Share - You earn a minimum of 60% of what the ads sell for - Performancing takes the other 40%. This will be tiered up as high as 90% for publishers for ‘better performing publishers’ (not sure if that is based upon sales or traffic)

You have control over where the ads appear, how many are shown and even some control over how they look (like spacing between them)

You can create multiple regions on your blog so have the ads appear in multiple positions

You can filter out ads you don’t want to appear by adding words for keywords and/or domains that you don’t want advertisers from

Advertisers buy ads based upon weekly increments

They have a premium program where if your blog has over 250,000 US pageviews per month they can sell ads on your behalf in different size ad units (728×90, 300×250 and 160×600).

You have control over what ads are priced at. You can also set ads to be no-follow ads (or not).

There is a WordPress Plugin to help manage these ads if you’re a WP user

PerformancingAds are new and as with any ad network I believe you shouldn’t expect too much too quickly from it as it takes time to get them working to optimal levels for both advertisers and publishers.

The success of this network will depend upon their ability to sign up advertisers. Last time around PerformancingAds did manage to sell quite a few ads on my site but it took time for them to get to that level.

1. Find knowledgeable writers for your Blog or print magazines via Wikipedia

Say you are looking for people who know about "Earthquakes" and can write for your publication. Open the Earthquake page on Wikipedia and switch to the history tab.

Here you’ll see a list of people who have contributed to that Wikipedia article - click the profile name of the contributor to read more about him and then use the Talk feature of Wikipedia to send him a message via Wikipedia.

2. Read Wikipedia Pages without Internal Links

Wikipedia pages are written in black text but sometimes they appear blue because each and every word in the article is an hyperlink to another Wikipedia story - see this snapshot from Google’s Wikipedia entry.

If you like to view Wikipedia articles sans excessive links, there’s a simple hack - just go to your browser address bar and append &printable=yes to the URL. Alternatively, click the "Printable version" link in the sidebar.

3. Track Wikipedia Articles via RSS or Email Alerts

You can track changes edits for any Wikipedia page via RSS feeds or instant email alerts. This is useful in two situations - you want to prevent vandalism or you want to keep yourself updated when some new information is added to topics of your interest.

To track Wikipedia stories, click the history tab of any article and then select the RSS feed from the sidebar. It looks something like this - replace Google with a different title.

You can either subscribe to this feed in any newsreader or go to sendmerss.com to get the same information via email alerts.

4. Read Wikipedia on Mobile Phones

While the lengthy pages of Wikipedia may look good on your large desktop screen, they are not really optimized for the small screen of your mobile phone.

Enter wapedia.mobi - it’s a Wikipedia search and browse tool for mobile phones. If a Wikipedia article is particularly long, Wapedia will split it into multiple page so they load faster on your phone similar to Google Transcoder.  

5. Find Wikipedia Articles About Places / People / Events Near Your Home

Go to Google Maps, type the address of your home in the search box (or for that matter, any place on earth) and turn on the Wikipedia layer - it is available in the top right corner of the map.

Zoom in and you’ll see markers that resemble the Wikipedia icon. Click to read a summary of the corresponding Wikipedia article.

6. Download the full Wikipedia Encyclopedia

If you want to browse Wikipedia on computers that are not connected to the Internet, you may download Wikipedia to your hard-drive and browse the entire site offline. The latest dump is for 04-07. For geeks, the latest dump is available here - it’s in SQL / XML format.

How to get back your suspended adsense account

When adsense suspend your account . You will receive an email like this one:

you have done anyhinng wrong or not you can do few things to reinstated your adsense account. 1) Write google an apology and discuss steps you've taken so the situation won't arise in the future. Don't avoid blame, even if you knew nothing about what your friends were doing when they decided to "help" you by clicking on your ads. The fact is, by revealing information about how you make money to someone else, you are setting yourself up for this situation. I'm not being judgemental, just telling you how Google sees it. In your letter to them, recognize and admit this. 

2) Offer to make good on any fraudulent clicks. They won't take you up on it, but they will know that you are genuinely sorry and want to keep their business. 

3) Contact someone at google directly. Don't just send off a random email to adsense@google.com. Go to a webmasterworld conference. Meet someone in their company. Use that In when the conference is over. Worst case scenario, BUY an In into the company. Does someone you know have an In there? Offer to pay them to to speak to their In on your behalf. A big adwords spender with a personal ad rep is a good place to begin. 

4) Seek out text ad competition immediately. Even if the ads aren't as high-paying as Googles (and they won't be), it will break the sting of losing all of your income until Google does come back around to review your case. 

5) Be persistent, but polite. Send a letter (a new one) once a week. Keep reiterating your loyalty to their program and how you are prepared to write letters forever until they will understand you are committed to following their rules if they will reaccept you.

If they don't answre your letter . Then think it is over. The only way is to Change your domain name, bank account, IP address, ISP and site design. Wait two months, then take on a partner you trust. Reapply for the program under this new partner's name and address, (now especially possible given Google's automatic deposit program). Learn from your mistakes and never do anything that can potentially result in your ads being clicked on fraudulently again. So, really, get a partner you can trust will not click as well.

Last step is about adding the Mybloglog Widget on your blog or website. When you go to your profile page, you will see a link below your created community ‘Get widget’. Things that bring traffic from Mybloglog

Add 15 bloggers to your contact list daily. Again 15 is the maximum limit that you can use in a day. Go for bloggers of your niche and add them in your contact list as a friend, family or you are a fan of.
Leave message to your community members and bloggers in your niche. Do it in a sensible manner and don’t try to spam their mailbox. Don’t leave message like ‘Nice site’, ‘Cool blog’, ‘Great site’, ‘Visit my blog’ and ‘Great community’ etc. Reply to the every sensible comments that you get in your community section and just ignore/delete/report the spam message that you can in your mybloglog account. When you leave a sensible message in MBL member community section or on their blogs, they will surely check your profile as well as blog mentioned in your communities section.

Make Money with Pay Per Post for blog

Pay Per Post is one of the many ways in which bloggers can earn money with their blogs. One attractive feature that Pay Per Post has is that it offers several ways for a blogger to earn.

Option 1

Bloggers have the option to accept an offer from a Pay Per Post advertiser to submit a blog entry based upon the advertiser’s criteria. Once approved, the blogger receives payment in amount agreed upon.


Option 2

If option number one doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, Pay Per Post offers the opportunity for you, as a blogger, to negotiate directly with an advertiser. This option is called Pay Per Post Direct.

In order to take advantage of this opportunity, you would have to insert code on your blog. Once installed, the code will display a little widget, which lets advertisers know that you are open for paid blogging. Advertisers will then contact you directly and begin the blog/price negotiation process.

Use care when selecting this option. If your blog’s readers come to your blog because of its authenticity, you may run the risk of letting your readers down if they know that your objectivity is tainted because you are being paid to follow an advertisers criterion. If your readers become disillusioned your blog’s traffic might suffer as a result.

If, however, your readers understand that you offer information about products and services and are not bothered by your being paid for your blog posts, then by all means take advantage of this option.

Option 3

If options one and two aren’t your bailiwick, Pay Per Post offers yet a third option. You can become a Pay Per Post affiliate. This seems to be the least painful of all options. All you need is you put a bit of code that will result in an image on your website or your blog letting your readers know that the Pay Per Post opportunity exists and that they could sign up and begin earning money to blog.

Some people choose all three options or pick and choose one or two of them. Folks are earning money with Pay Per Post.

Page Rank Matters

Pay Per Post Advertisers prefer blogs with a page rank of at least 3. If your blog has a low page rank you won’t be able to participate in as many offers as a blog with a higher ranking.

Requirements for Blog Approval

In order to be able to make money using Option I, your blog must be currently active. Pay Per Post checks to see if your blog has at least 10 entries within the past 30 days. If not, then you’ll have to utilize Option II. Once your blog achieves the status of 10 blog entries within a 30-day period of time, you can then resubmit it for approval in order to use Option I.

How to protect your adsense account from being disabled

A) Shut up about how you make money when talking to friends and family. Let them privately think you run a bestiality porn site or something. It's still better than them clicking on your ads :)

B) Disable ads for your own ip and local geographic region, if you have access to that data and it won't hurt your business. Ditto with your competition's ip address. If you don't know it, write him an email pretending to be a customer and look at his return headers.

C) Get click-monitoring software and check it daily. Be vigilant in notifying Google about what YOU think is fraud, even if they don't. Your notifications to them will come in especially handy should your account ever be flagged by them. You'll be remembered as honest.

D) Think of Google for the long term, not the short term. So you're having a bad month and think clicking on an ad you might be interested in anyway doesn't hurt anyone? You're wrong. This month might be bad. Next month will be good. Google revenue is about long term averages. Is a few cents click worth the loss of thousands of dollars in the long term? Definitely not.

Chitka has some really amazing looking programs that you may want to check out. They offer a special thing called eMiniMalls which is their main product. It is very similar to Widget Bucks. Both CPM (cost per 1000 views) CPC (cost per click) programmes are available. Chitika also help to sell your ad space with AdPro.
